Report animal welfare and compliance concerns

The University of Toronto is committed to the highest standards related to animal use in science and to providing animals with the best care. All animal use in science is mandated by the guidelines and policies of the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) and regulations of the Animals for Research Act, enforced by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA).

Oversight of animals at U of T is a responsibility shared by many in the U of T community including the University Animal Care Committee, Local Animal Care Committees and staff that collectively ensure that animal care and use is ethical and humane. This is supported by training and the post-approval review program.

All individuals involved in animal care and use have a moral and ethical responsibility to report any concerns so that animal (and human) health and safety are preserved.
