Martine Puts inducted into International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame

Professor Martine Puts of the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing has been inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing’s International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.

Created in 2010, the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame honours nurse researchers who have achieved significant and sustained national or international recognition and whose research has improved the profession and the people it serves.

Puts was recognized for her research in geriatric nursing care that aims to improve the health and well-being of older adults, particularly those with cancer. A co-founder of the Canadian Network on Aging in Cancer, Puts has made it central to her research program to engage older adults with lived experience, along with their caregivers, ensuring their perspectives are included in her studies.

Puts says it’s an honour to be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside many notable researchers from around the world.

“It is also wonderful to see that research focused on improving the health and care of older adults is being recognized for its importance and its impact on this population,” says Puts, who holds a Canada Research Chair in the Care of Frail Older Adults.
