The University of Toronto has recognized 50 faculty members across its three campuses with Connaught New Researcher Awards for 2024-25.
The annual awards support early-stage researchers in the humanities, social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, engineering and other fields – and aim to enhance their competitiveness for external awards. They are part of the Connaught Fund, Canada’s largest internal university research funding program.
"I am pleased to congratulate all the exceptional, early-career University of Toronto scholars who have received Connaught New Researcher Awards this year,” said Leah Cowen, U of T’s vice-president, research and innovation, and strategic initiatives. "From the impact of aging on myelin repair in multiple sclerosis to physics-informed machine learning and the equity implications of digital service costs, these researchers are advancing knowledge in areas of vital importance even as they establish themselves in their respective fields."
