19 U of T faculty members elected fellows of Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

Nineteen faculty members from U of T have been elected fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) for 2025 in recognition of excellence in health sciences.
Election to CAHS fellowship is considered one of the highest honours for individuals in the Canadian health sciences community. It entails a commitment to serve the academy and advance research across all of the fellow's disciplines.
“Election to the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences acknowledges outstanding contributions to the health sciences,” said Trevor Young, U of T's vice-president and provost and the president of CAHS. “We are proud of these fellows’ accomplishments, and we are honoured to welcome them to the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.”
The U of T scholars elected to 2025 CAHS fellowships are:
- Yvonne Bombard at Unity Health Toronto and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health
- Laura Dawson at University Health Network and the department of radiation oncology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Astrid Guttman at the Hospital for Sick Children and the department of paediatrics in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Rayjean Hung at Sinai Health and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health
- Zhengping Jia at the Hospital for Sick Children and the department of physiology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Kamran Khan at Unity Health Toronto and the department of medicine in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Bernard Le Foll at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and the department of family and community medicine in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Natasha Leighl at University Health Network and the department of medicine in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Trudo Lemmens at the Faculty of Law
- Peter Newman at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work
- Rulan Parekh at Women’s College Hospital and the department of medicine in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Milica Radisic at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
- Laura Rosella at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health
- Russell James Schachar at the Hospital for Sick Children and the department of psychiatry in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Allison Sekuler at Baycrest Health Sciences and the department of psychology in the Faculty of Arts & Science
